RECONCILE THE REPORT WITH THE ACCOUNT

ACCC but Money Not Received: What to Check

Start by checking that the completion report and the account being searched concern the same payment.

Identify the source of ACCC

ACCC describes accepted settlement completed on the creditor account. It is a more specific report than a general processing label. The Westpac response-code reference distinguishes it from ACSP.

First establish whether you have a bank report, a forwarded screenshot or a label in another service. UETR.io displays registered events; an ACCC label entered here does not become independent bank confirmation. Keep the original reporting institution and timestamp with the claim.

Match the account and the payment

  1. Compare the original UETR and bank reference with the order, rather than a similar payment.
  2. Confirm the beneficiary bank and account identifier through a secure channel.
  3. Check the credited currency, including any separate foreign-currency account.
  4. Search by date range and amount, allowing for explained conversion or deductions.
  5. Ask whether the bank shows a booked entry, an available balance or both.

Do not assume an invoice reference will appear unchanged on the statement. The bank may need to search using the interbank reference.

Ask the beneficiary bank to reconcile the discrepancy

The beneficiary should ask their bank to reconcile the supplied completion report with their own account records. Provide the original reference, amount, currency, report time and sending bank through the bank’s secure process.

A useful question is: “Which account entry corresponds to this report, and if none is visible on my account, what does your investigation show?” If availability differs from booking, ask for the reason and expected next step. Do not guess that a hold or internal allocation issue exists merely because the credit is missing.

When the receiving bank cannot find it

Ask for a written case reference or a clear description of what was searched. The sender can then ask the sending bank to verify the report’s origin and investigate the mismatch. Keep both enquiries connected to the same original payment.

Use the payment-trace template rather than requesting another generic “sent” receipt. If details turn out to be wrong, read wrong IBAN or beneficiary details before arranging a replacement.

Do not pay to make a status become real

An unexpected demand to buy a certificate or pay an unrelated party to unlock a claimed credit requires independent verification. Contact your own bank. The payment-safety guide explains that pattern; a status screenshot alone cannot authenticate the demand.
