SWIFT gpi status codes ACSP, ACSC, ACCC, RJCT explained.
SWIFT payment status codes describe reported stages of a transfer. ACSP means accepted and in process; ACSC concerns a completed settlement step; ACCC reports creditor-account settlement; PDNG means pending; and RJCT means rejected.
A bank may use a label such as “in transit” or “on hold” instead of showing the underlying code. Read that label alongside the reporting institution, timestamp and original UETR reference.
- Know the stage: technical acceptance, processing, settlement or an outcome.
- Read the reason: an additional code can explain a rejection or delay.
- Confirm with the bank: a label alone does not locate funds.
UETR.io displays registered transaction events. This guide explains bank terminology; it does not turn recorded system events into bank-confirmed SWIFT updates.
Track a transaction →What are SWIFT status codes?
These standardized codes identify the status a financial institution reports for a payment. They describe a message or processing outcome, and their significance depends on the reporting context. Confirm account credit directly with the responsible bank.
How far do tracked transfers get?
The supplied reference page reports the following figures for transfers looked up on uetr.ai during September 2026. They are that service’s reported sample, not UETR.io transaction statistics or an industry-wide success rate.
| Stage reached | Codes covered by the source | Reported share |
|---|---|---|
| Credited to the beneficiary | ACCC | 61.3% |
| Accepted, still in progress | ACSP with G sub-codes, ACWP | 30.1% |
| Rejected or cancelled | RJCT with reasons, CAND | 8.6% |

What the codes mean
SWIFT gpi status codes: the full reference table
Common status values, their names and practical next steps. ACTC is an early technical state; the seven detailed payment codes follow below.
| Code | Full name | Plain-English meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACTC | Accepted Technical Validation | Technical checks passed; settlement is not confirmed. | Look for a subsequent processing or outcome report. |
| ACSP | Accepted Settlement In Process | The instruction has been accepted for execution; settlement is in progress. | Check the reporting bank and timestamp. If the payment exceeds the bank’s expected timeframe, ask the sending bank to trace its UETR. |
| ACSC | Accepted Settlement Completed Debitor Account | A settlement step has completed. This does not by itself confirm credit to the beneficiary. | Ask the bank which settlement step completed and whether beneficiary credit has been confirmed. |
| ACCC | Accepted Settlement Completed Creditor Account | The reporting bank states that settlement on the creditor’s account is complete. | Confirm the account and value date with the beneficiary bank if the recipient cannot locate the credit. |
| ACWC | Accepted With Change | The instruction was accepted with a change, such as its date or remittance information. | Ask the bank what changed and whether the beneficiary needs updated reconciliation information. |
| ACWP | Accepted Without Posting | The instruction was accepted but has not been posted to the creditor’s account. | The beneficiary should ask their bank what is needed before posting. The code alone does not explain the cause. |
| PDNG | Pending | Further checks are required before a later status update. | Ask the sending bank why the payment is pending and what information or action is required. |
| RJCT | Rejected | The payment instruction was rejected. This alone does not establish where funds are. | Obtain the reason code and ask the sending bank whether funds were debited or returned. Confirm the correction and next step before sending again. |
The usual order of the statuses
ACSP and ACCC describe common progress and completion reports. Intermediate and exception statuses are conditional, not a required sequence for every payment.

pacs.002 at a glance
The payment status report and the payment instruction are separate ISO 20022 messages.

Why pacs.002 matters
A status report communicates what happened to an instruction. It differs from the pacs.008 customer payment message and from a return of funds.
Status flow
ACSP · Processing
↳ ACSC · Settlement step complete
→ ACCC · Creditor settlement complete
↳ PDNG · Further checks
× RJCT · Rejected
A reported status and a customer account statement may have different update times.
⌕ Decode a SWIFT status code
Enter a code or a common bank label. Ambiguous labels show possible matches rather than assuming an outcome.
Try ACSP, credited, pending posting, on hold or ACSP/G003.
This is a terminology decoder, not a transaction lookup or a bank-status verification.

What do ACSP G002 and the other G sub-codes mean?
A G reason code adds context to an accepted payment. It is not a replacement for the main status or confirmation of beneficiary credit.
| Code | Reported context | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| ACSP / G001 | Transferred onward without continued tracking or service obligations. | Ask the reporting bank how this applies to the payment and whether any action is needed. |
| ACSP / G002 | Credit or debit may not be confirmed on the same day. | Ask the reporting bank how this applies to the payment and whether any action is needed. |

What does ACSP mean on a Companies House filing?
In a UK company-filing context, ACSP means Authorised Corporate Service Provider. That term is unrelated to the SWIFT payment status Accepted Settlement In Process.
Why your bank’s portal uses different wording
“Processing,” “in transit” and “with correspondent” may describe an accepted payment still in process. “Settled” may concern one settlement step rather than beneficiary credit.
Read the report’s timestamp and the bank that supplied it. A translation alone cannot tell you everything the underlying message contains.
“On hold” can refer to pending checks or acceptance without posting. These are different situations and can require different parties to act.
Ask for the exact code and reason. The decoder above gives possible interpretations; your bank must confirm which applies.
How status codes actually work
Reports, returns, account notifications and payment instructions serve different purposes.
01/ Who publishes the status
A participating institution reports what it knows about the payment. Keep the original UETR and ask which institution supplied the latest update.
02/ Status messages vs return messages
pacs.002 reports status. pacs.004 is a return message. A rejection is not proof that a refund has been completed.
03/ Why a statement may differ from a tracker
Account notifications and payment-status reports come from different processes. Confirm the actual account entry with the account-servicing bank.
04/ Message formats and the reference
ISO 20022 structures payment data in named elements. The UETR can connect the same transaction across an MT103-format confirmation and a pacs.008 instruction.
Common RJCT reason codes
Read the reason alongside its message context. Ask the bank to confirm the cause and correction before deciding whether a new instruction is appropriate.
| Code | Name | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| AC01 | IncorrectAccountNumber | An account number is missing or incorrect. |
| AC04 | ClosedAccountNumber | The specified account is closed. |
| AC06 | BlockedAccount | The account is blocked. |
| AG01 | TransactionForbidden | This transaction is not permitted for the account. |
| AM04 | InsufficientFunds | Available funds do not cover the instructed amount. |
| AM05 | Duplication | The instruction was identified as a duplicate. |
| BE04 | MissingCreditorAddress | The creditor address is missing or incorrect. |
| BE07 | MissingDebtorAddress | The debtor address is missing or incorrect. |
| FF01 | InvalidFileFormat | The file format is incomplete or invalid. |
| RC01 | BankIdentifierIncorrect | The bank identifier is missing or incorrectly formatted. |
| FOCR | FollowingCancellationRequest | A reason associated with a cancellation request; interpret it in the message context. |
| NARR | Narrative | Read the explanatory text supplied by the reporting institution. |
Why a payment was rejected
Review ISO 20022 address requirements when an address is missing or incorrect. An empty lookup result does not identify an address failure.
Reference: ISO 20022 external code sets and SWIFT’s status reporting documentation. Interpret each value under the applicable scheme.
What to do when your transfer shows…
Accepted Settlement In Process
Check the reporting bank and timestamp. If the payment exceeds the bank’s expected timeframe, ask the sending bank to trace its UETR.
Pending
Ask the sending bank why the payment is pending and what information or action is required.
Accepted Without Posting
The beneficiary should ask their bank what is needed before posting. The code alone does not explain the cause.
Rejected
Obtain the reason code and ask the sending bank whether funds were debited or returned. Confirm the correction and next step before sending again.
How to check what your SWIFT status code means
Find the original UETR
Look for MT103 field 121 or the UETR element within pacs.008 payment identification.
Keep the payment details
Retain the original bank confirmation and the message date. Ask the bank if any detail is unclear.
Locate the record
On UETR.io, use the reference, message date and email to find a registered transaction.
Read the report in context
Use the code reference to understand terminology. Recorded UETR.io events are distinct from a live SWIFT response.
Read how to track a transaction, MT103 fields explained and the pacs.008 format guide.
